My Why: Adicus Alexander

Adicus Alexander

Client Relations

As an artist Adicus has always been interested in the stories of people around him. As the child of two veterans he saw first hand how colorful and impactful the story of an individual could be and had hoped to share those stories through writing and animation. He spent years in school learning the tools and techniques necessary to achieve that goal but during that time he was introduced to the work of recovery. Through helping his mother at her practice with the physical labor demands of setting up her office, running errands, and the occasional moving of furniture he got to see how impactful and filling the work of a substance could be. It was that moment he found his calling. Now he is working towards his LCDC and is hoping to continue on to be an art therapist specializing in trauma and addiction.

My Why:

I witnessed how addiction can tear a person down and turn them into someone they aren’t. I’ve lost family and friends to this destructive disease and I want to do everything I can to help make sure others don’t suffer the same heartbreak. My why is compassion for the suffering and those who care about them and the hope that they can lead healthier and more joyous lives.
