When I was working as a Chemical Dependency Counselor at the Mexican American Unity Council’s Casa Del Sol, I was given the opportunity to work with the client’s referred to us by the V.A. (mainly Viet Nam veterans). I was honored to have been able to establish a rapport with them and assist them in their recovery and healing. I have always felt respect for our service men and women and for our first responders.
I lived on Okinawa, Japan from 1973 to 1978 thanks to my father accepting the accompanied tour offered to him as a Civil Servant. Upon return to the states we moved to San Antonio where I have spent the majority of my teen and adult years. I am married to a USAF Ret MSGT and am grateful to have most of my medical services at BAMC (aka SAMMC). I am honored to be given the opportunity to help our veterans and first responders and to give back just a part of what they have given to all of us.
