The past two years I worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice which is the end of the line of the state legal system after inmates have been sentenced. During my time there I always thought there had to be a better way of serving and helping society than from behind prison walls. I have seen personally from people I served with in the military and family members how addiction and mental disorders can overtake a person’s life. Warrior’s Heart has taken on the mission of helping veterans and first responders to fight back against the things that seek to take the meaning out of their life and I want to be a part of a team with a focused goal to save everyone we can and leave no one behind. The U.S. Coast Guard’s motto is Semper Paratus which means Always Ready, and I will stand Always Ready to help my fellow Warriors and first responders in their battle against addiction and PTSD.
