My Why: Monica Ahrens

Monica Ahrens was born in San Antonio, TX, lived briefly in Hill Country Kerrville, TX, as a child, but was raised in San Antonio. She decided later in life to go to school for Licensed Vocational Nursing and has been licensed since 2012. She has a variety of experience ranging from behavioral to geriatrics/dementia patients.

She is currently attending Palo Alto to obtain an associate degree in Health Care Administration and plans to obtain a bachelor’s in Operations Management, with the goal of one day becoming an administrator of a long-term care facility.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren, husband, and sons. She states she does not want to miss the little moments of the growing years of her grandchildren.

She will be here part-time for now and wants to learn and understand different types of nursing and help others with the struggles they are facing.
