My Why

My Why: Pam Scharmen

Pam Scharmen
Transportation

Pam was born in Alice, Texas moved to California at an early age and back to Texas in 1965.

She was a military wife most of her life. She is widowed now. She has 5 daughters, 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 3 more on the way!

Pam volunteered as an EMT-I with Bandera County EMS for many years. She worked with the City of Bandera as the court clerk and associate judge for 12 years

My Why:

I was a military wife for most of my life.

I became interested in the medical field while working for a local doctor so I went to Emergency Medical Technician school and later became an “intermediate” level EMT, which is no longer in existence.

My main reason for wanting to become a part of Warriors Heart is because I had a daughter who was addicted to drugs, who later committed suicide. I want to feel I can help others in a way she couldn’t be helped.
