My Why

My Why: Silvia Bollinger

While living in Texas, I learned about honor, dignity, compassion, faith, and the Warriors Hearts. I believe in the mission that Warriors Hearts provides clients and look forward to providing clients not only in our small town of Bandera, but also throughout our great country the help they need to recover.

What attracted me to the Warriors Hearts is its principles that I live by, which is the Toltec Way: being impeccable with my words, not taking anything personally, don’t make assumptions, always do your best, and be skeptical, learn, & listen. When I saw the synchronicity of belief, I knew that our small town and Warriors Hearts offered other options for our military and first responders. I recognize this is an opportunity for me to give back.

I have witnessed that PTSD has become an everyday word and yet many soldiers don’t receive the assistance they deserve. I personally feel that PTSD is treatable through many modalities and that is why I am here to help our soldiers and first responders.

I also have a personal reason, and that is my son. After his return from Iraq, I noticed a difference in him. I know that someone is not weak, but strong, to commit to and seek help. I believe his faith is ever strong and along with treatments he is finally getting the help he deserves and requires.

My Why is simple: to find the key to unlock and release any and all pain associated with PTSD. To teach the soldiers and first responders tools through meditation and relaxation techniques that are always available to them as a self-treatment when a stressful situation occurs. Furthermore to give them HOPE for healing themselves and their family lives.
My hope and prayer is that all soldiers and first responders receive any and all assistance they need to help them heal.
