My Why: Brent Haas

Brent Haas
Safety Manager

As the youngest of nine children, I was raised in Northern California in a large, resilient family that shaped my perspective on strength, independence, and perseverance. My path has included service in both the military and the fire service, where I developed discipline, leadership, and a deep commitment to helping others.

Like many, my journey has not been without challenges. In pursuit of a better life and lasting sobriety, I made the decision to move to Texas—choosing a fresh start and a new environment to support my recovery. That decision became a turning point, allowing me to rebuild my life with purpose and clarity.

Today, one of my greatest accomplishments is regaining custody of my two children. They are my motivation and my foundation. Everything I do is rooted in creating stability, leading by example, and showing them that change is possible no matter where you start.

My story is one of resilience, accountability, and growth. I’m committed to continuing that path—building a life defined not by past struggles, but by the strength it took to overcome them.

My Why:

I work in the recovery field because it’s deeply personal to me. After struggling with methamphetamine addiction for over nine years, I understand firsthand the challenges, setbacks, and strength it takes to pursue sobriety. My journey has given me a unique perspective and compassion for those walking a similar path.

Today, I am committed to using my experience to support others in their recovery. I believe in meeting people where they are, offering empathy without judgment, and helping them see that lasting change is possible. Being part of the recovery community allows me to give back, provide hope, and play a small role in someone else’s new beginning.
