My Why: Bill Whitley

Bill Whitley
Safety Officer

Bill was born & raised in the Texas panhandle. Bill was a straight A student & athlete. His family was in the oilfield trucking & automotive parts/repair business. At age 15, Bill was introduced to intravenous methamphetamine use & for the next 36 yrs, lived in a constant nightmare of drug addiction that he couldn’t escape. Although he had given up on himself, his family never did. They knew that God could not be limited. Prayers were constant. In late August 2014, at the age of 51, God removed the obsession. Bill has now been clean for 6 yrs & has been working in the treatment industry since January 2016. In March 2016, God showed up again. Bill was asked to train an incoming employee at the treatment center he was working for. The employee that showed up was another blessing & the love of his life. Amber. They were married in 2017. Today Bill is doing what he loves to do…..helping people to recover from alcohol & drug addiction. “To see the light of understanding come on in someone’s eyes is the greatest thing on earth!!”

My Why:

I have circled military personnel & law enforcement all my life. I’m grateful for both their sacrifice & commitment. Seemingly regardless of cost.

When I first heard of Warrior’s Heart, a few years ago, I was intrigued. The longer I thought about it, the more I felt as if this was where God wanted me.

Upon my first visit… I had no doubt. This was where I was meant to be.

The feelings upon my hiring were overwhelming.

I got home in tears.

A feeling of humility, honor, blessing such as I have never felt before.

May God bless these men & women all the days of their life.
