Med Tech

I was born and raised in Santa Barbara, CA, I have a daughter and a granddaughter they both live in Los Angeles, CA. I got interested in the medical field many years ago and started out with Sansum Medical Clinic as a Lab Clerk Typist data entry for 1 year, then moved upstairs to become a Darkroom Technician developing x rays I did that for a year, then across the street to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and became a Lab Assistant/Certified Phlebotomist, I enjoyed working with patients and drawing blood, I stayed there for a couple of years. I then married my daughter’s father and we were married 7 years. In that time we moved to Santa Maria so I could enroll in the Medical Assistant program at Allan Hancock College, I almost completed the program until I had severe pain in my wrist it was a lipoma that caused a lot of pain and discomfort. Had I’d been able to type I would have gotten my medical assistant certification. So then I went back to work and got a job in a lab as a phlebotomist for a couple of years. I then missed Santa Barbara so much we moved back, I got a job as a medical assistant at the Santa Barbara Medical foundation Clinic which is now called Sansum Medical Clinic. I started out working with an Internal Medicine/Nephrologist and Cardiologist for a couple of years, then moved over to the Cardiac department and worked as an EKG Tech I really enjoyed working in Cardiology and stayed there for 3 years until an opportunity came up to work in Urgent Care, Peds and Community Medicine it was a combined job and learned a lot and enjoyed working there as well. I then decided I wanted to get paid for so I decided to bridge over and become a LVN it was a 2 yr program where I could go to school during the day and work in the evenings. When I finally got my LVN License I moved To Los Angeles/Malibu area and I got a job as a nurse to the movie stars, that was fun but annoying at times as some were very nice while others demanded to be treated like royalty, which I treated everyone the same. So I eventually got tired of working and living in Los Angeles/Malibu and moved back to Santa Barbara and got a job with Dr Diana Schwarzbein an endocrinologist and doctor to the movie stars. I worked there for 3 yrs, then left there and worked with Mia Lundin as an office manager she was a Nurse practitioner and her business was Hormones and Nutritional balance, I stayed there 3 yrs until I was offered a great position as a Holistic Nurse in an Integrative Holistic Oncology Center, thats when I found my calling I love holistic nursing. Then I decided it was time to move on and I moved to the Palm Springs area and worked with a medical assistant who started his own business called Palm Springs Infusion , I worked as a vitamin infusion nurse for 3 yrs, I loved that. I went to a seminar in Phoenix and met this holistic cardiologist/homeopathic medical doctor who wanted me to work with him, I learned a lot of different modalities he has cured lot’s of people. I then decided to move to Texas after my doctor friend said to move out of Commiefornia fast, I did and packed up my African Grey parrot and we left and found Bandera after staying in a few airBNB. I rented for a couple of years until I bought some property and a house here in Bandera,
I have been looking for a great place to work and I’ve been doing caregiving for awhile, waiting to get my LVN license transferred to Texas, it seems to be a pain in the booty because in Calif they do not want to lose their nurses and they make it hard to transfer.

My Why

I finally saw a job on Indeed.com for a job as a MED Tech here at Warriors Heart. I’ve heard such wonderful things about it and so I applied and I got the job, I’m so happy to come abroad and work with all these awesome first responders and service men and women that worked hard to save our country from terrorists. All the things that they have endured while in combat I’m looking forward to learning all that I can
