My Why:

My why is to spread mental health awareness specifically towards underserved communities and populations where discussing mental health is not the norm. Growing up within the Hispanic community, mental health was rarely discussed and I witness many loved ones lives be negatively affected due to this. Seeing this within my own community growing up, I branched out to other communities that I believed are underserved and mental health conversations are not the norm. Once I started interning at Warriors Heart, I felt l found my calling in serving our nation’s warriors and their families. My goal as a clinician is to provide a safe non-judgement space for all and strive to bring the topic of mental health into everyday conversation.
