Whitney was born in Northern California but raised in Washington state. After graduating from a tiny high school in Cowiche, WA, she decided to take off on her own and find her way in the world. Whitney was sitting in a nowhere job making cabinets when she decided to join the military, all through high school her favorite teacher, Mr. Tate would tell them stories from his military days, and it had a huge impact on her views of the military despite having family who did not approve or appreciate the sacrifices our troops made. Three weeks after the thought popped in her mind, she left for bootcamp. Whitney PROUDLY served in the Navy as a Master at Arms. Becoming a mother made it harder to stay active duty so after her contract was up, she transitioned to a full time mom of 6 (plus amazing step children).

My Why:

I struggled hard finding my way in the civilian world and in the odd jobs I would pick up, that is until I came to work at Warrior’s Heart. Warrior’s Heart brought me back to life. Helping my brothers and sisters in arms has fulfilled what was missing in my heart. My heart broke daily seeing my brothers and sisters struggle in many of the same ways I was. I have been that last call and had to pull the buddy check card so many times. Being with this family, I have been given the tools to further help. I will forever be grateful for coming home to Warrior’s Heart.
