My Why: Christina Edwards

Christina Edwards
Yoga Instructor

Christina Edwards is a Virginia native, currently residing in Caroline County. She has been practicing yoga since 1994, and teaching yoga since 2010. She took her 200-hour training in 2011, 300-hour in 2020, and has additional training in somatic yoga, yin yoga, chair yoga, senior yoga, and mindfulness- based practices. She incorporates breathwork, mindful movement, and meditation into all her classes, always reminding participants to work within their own limits and do what feels right for them.

Christina is married and has a daughter and son, both grown, plus two grandsons and one on the way! She also has two fur babies. In addition to yoga, Christina enjoys reading, getting out in nature, and doing embroidery.

With a personal and family history of trauma, metal illness, and substance abuse, Christina has found the power of yoga as a tool to help regulate the nervous system and find balance. She is honored to have the ability to share these powerful tools with our Warriors at Warriors Heart.

My Why:

I want our Warriors to know that they have the power to make informed decisions about their health and well-being. I saw first- hand with my veteran son how the power of yoga has transformed his life and helped him manage his PTSD and addictions. It is an honorable thing to be able to share this with the Warriors at Warriors Heart, and it is my hope that I can meet them where they are and make a difference in their lives on their journey towards healing.
