My Why

I had been a police officer for 13 years when it suddenly came to a halt. After trying different jobs for a few years, and not having the satisfaction of assisting others and not obtaining any personal growth, I saw the advertisement for Warriors Heart and read about the Mission. I instantly knew I wanted to be part of the team in helping save lives. There has always been this negative connotation about getting help for chemical dependency or suffering from PTSD as a law enforcement officer and I, like other Warriors, felt ashamed and sought help privately so no one would know my pain and suffering. I am honored and privileged to be a little, or big, part of the team that serves the Warriors of our Nation that have served and kept us safe for so long.
