Dathan Wright

Dathan was born in 1982 and grew up with his grandparents on a farm. Dathan worked the farm and cattle his whole life. He had a daughter his sophomore year in High School. He graduated High School and attempted to pursue a baseball career in college. School, ball, work, and a family proved to be too much so he quit and went to work welding on the pipeline. He put his daughter’s mom through college and attempted to return and play ball. He cut his finger off ending his baseball and college stints. Dathan went back to work on the pipeline. In 06 he found out he would be a father again to a son. Dathan became a Christian and began to seek employment that would allow him to raise his son and be active in his life. Dathan became a fireman. Dathan also began working for the Texas Task Force. His daughter pursued a scholarship to play soccer in college. During her freshman year she was involved in a traffic accident while going back to her dorm after a game with 3 teammates. She was ejected and suffered a brain injury. She was never released to play soccer so she transferred to Tech to finish out her diploma. She now has a great job marketing for an oil/gas company, is married, and will be having my first grandson in June. During 22 Dathan went through a divorce. He got custody of his 14 yo son. Dathan changed jobs to work closer to home with a better schedule that would allow for a better opportunity of attempting to raise a child. Dathan’s son Brenner is now a senior in high school, has gotten many offers to play baseball as well, but has decided to focus on his studies. He will be attending Tech in the fall. Dathan loves being on the water and is purchasing an outfitter service here in the Hill Country. On a trip out Dathan met a photographer local to the area. They hit things off and now are engaged and plan to do life here in the Hill Country.

My Why

I am a retired fireman who’s had personal struggles. Through faith and God’s grace I am now living my best life. I have recently found the Hill Country and want to make this area my home. I am thankful and honored to be in a position to continue to serve those who make it possible to live this abundant life.
