Gregory Barney

Admissions Advocate

Gregory Barney was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and raised in Niles, where he attended Brandywine Jr./Sr. High School. He served four years in the United States Navy from 2017 to 2020 aboard the USS Nimitz as a Cryptologic Technician Collection. During his service, he had the opportunity to operate with both the 5th and 7th Fleets and travel throughout the Middle East and Asia.

Following his military service, Gregory continued his education, earning his Associate of Arts from Northwest Florida State College in 2022. He is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree at the University of West Florida.

Outside of work, much of Gregory’s life revolves around his family. As a foster parent with seven children, ranging from six months to 10 years old, his free time is usually spent playing with the kids, helping with homework, cooking dinner, and being present for his family. When the house finally quiets down, he enjoys video games, football, and UFC. He is also passionate about tattoos and piercings and enjoys supporting his wife with her businesses.

My Why

I work at Warriors Heart because I want to help my brothers and sisters in arms get the care they deserve. As a veteran myself, I understand how meaningful it can be to receive support from people who have shared similar experiences and truly understand where you are coming from.

For me, “Warriors Healing Warriors” is more than a saying. It represents the reason I am here. I want to help other warriors find sobriety, work through the underlying issues that brought them to this point, and build a better life, whether they are doing it for themselves, their families, or both.

If I can help another warrior take that first step toward getting clean, getting healthy, and getting their life back, then I know I am doing work that matters.
