My Why

My “why” for working at Warriors Heart is deeply personal. I know firsthand how addiction can take hold of a person’s life and the challenges that come with finding a way out. For a significant part of my life, I struggled with drugs and alcohol, and recovery has completely changed the direction of my life.

I chose to work at Warriors Heart because I want to turn my past into something meaningful. Instead of allowing my struggles to define me, I want them to become a source of hope and purpose. Every day, I have the opportunity to support men and women who are fighting battles of their own, and I understand that healing is possible because I’ve experienced it myself.

Working with active duty military, veterans, and first responders is an incredible privilege. These individuals have dedicated their lives to serving others, and I believe they deserve compassionate care, respect, and the chance to reclaim their lives. My past allows me to approach this work with empathy, humility, and genuine understanding.

My “why” is simple: I want my story to serve a greater purpose. If my journey can help even one person believe that recovery is possible, then everything I went through has become part of something positive. Every day I come to work, I am reminded that healing, hope, and second chances are real—and I am honored to be part of that process.
