Kelly Wylie

SUD Clinician

Kelly is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). She was born and raised in Houston, Tx and moved to the Hill Country in 2021 after realizing she needed to leave her environment to be successful in sobriety. She lost her fiancé in a motorcycle accident while six weeks pregnant with her youngest daughter, and then her son was diagnosed with Leukemia shortly after she gave birth to her. Her son Chase passed away in 2018 at the age of 9 after complications from a bone marrow transplant. Searching for something to numb the unbearable grief, she was introduced to substances and was more than willing to try anything. Grief, substances, and hopelessness introduced her to a life she would never have thought could happen to her. After treatment Kelly moved with her two daughters to Medina, Tx and decided to go back to school. She graduated from Texas State Technical College in May of 2023 with her LCDC-I (Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor-Intern), continued through Midwestern State University and graduated with a Bachelors in Substance Abuse Education in December of 2024, and is currently in a master’s program for clinical mental health, graduating in 2028.

My Why

Addiction does not discriminate, and at my lowest, I was encouraged by counselors who once walked the same walk as me and believed in me until I had the self-worth to believe in myself. My grandpa was enlisted in the Army, my father in the Air Force, and my brother in the Navy, and I witnessed firsthand the struggles veterans face with substances and mental health. I also have family members who have passed away from this disease, which makes it more personal for me. Counseling others is truly my passion, and I strive to be better not only in my recovery but also helping others through theirs.
