My Why

Being a family member that lost my brother, Sgt. Bobby Gene Swanson, Jr. in Vietnam, I feel that God has allowed me to come full circle, and give back by serving the men and women who sacrifice every day to give us our freedom. I believe more than anything that God wants us all to be healed from our past to better serve HIM and others. We all need someone that will listen, and need a safe place to learn without judgment. I currently am a member of Give an Hour, which dedicates to meeting the mental health needs of the troops and families affected by the post-9/11 conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. We provide free counseling to individuals, couples and families, and children and adolescents at no cost. I support Homecoming for Veterans which is a National outreach program for veterans that offers 20 Neurofeedback sessions for veterans with PTSD. I am currently a participating contract therapist with Lone Survivor Foundation, building nationally recognized therapeutic facilities that support wounded service members and their families affected by Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and mild Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI), Military Sexual Trauma (MST), and chronic pain. Their creed is “NEVER QUIT on those who NEVER QUIT on us!” -Rhonda Fousek
