Sarah Otto is a (Ret.) Navy Spouse, a believer in the power of positive thinking, a social butterfly and a Missouri girl in a Virginia world. She served as the Ombudsman for the USS The Sullivans DDG 68 for over 3 years and a Navy Family Ombudsman Certified Ombudsman Trainer for 5 years. Sarah is the 2017 & 2018 NSF Dahlgren Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year and has spent over two decades advocating for US Military Service Members & their Families.
Sarah and her husband, Jay, are high school sweethearts and natives of Jefferson City, Missouri but have called Virginia home since 2011. Sarah is part of the Client Relations team with Warriors Heart in Sparta, Virginia while Jay, a US Navy Veteran who retired in 2018 after over 21 years Active Duty, is currently a Government Contractor with Integrated Engineering Incorporated in Dahlgren, Virginia. They have three adult children, one granddaughter, two furbabies, and two goats.
My Why:
I have always had a servants heart, especially for those that protect and serve our great Nation. During my over 2 decades as a Military Spouse I saw a lot, and heard even more.
Our Warriors need to know that they are NOT alone and that Warriors Heart is more than one person, or location, it’s a home to feel safe when in the midst of healing.
