Chris is a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist and former Wildland-Firefighter:Hotshot with firsthand experience in high-stress, high-risk environments. His years on the fireline exposed him to both the physical demands and the invisible wounds that many warriors carry long after leaving the job. Through his own recovery process, Chris has developed a personal understanding of the challenges that can follow life in service. Today, he draws on that lived experience to support others navigating recovery, blending operational discipline with compassionate, peer-driven support.
My Why:
I spent years on the line as a former (Hot-Shot), and like a lot of us, some of that weight followed me long after leaving the field. Over time, I’ve learned how important it is to have people who truly understand that fight — the kind that doesn’t always end when the job does. That experience is what led me into peer support. I’ve seen how much strength it takes to face what we carry, and how powerful it can be to sit with someone who’s walked through it too. For me, it’s not about fixing anyone — it’s about showing up, standing beside them, and being there when it matters most.
