Client Relations
May Scott was born in Virginia and raised in a lively home that moved around often, she learned early how to connect, adapt, and find joy even in the chaos. A former Navy Corpsman, May’s lifelong commitment to service has taken many forms — from donating a kidney to volunteering on suicide hotlines and 5150 calls and pastoral support and helping veterans navigate the VA DBQ claims process. Once a client herself at Warriors Heart in 2019, May now serves on the Client Relations team at Warrior’s Heart, where she brings a rare blend of empathy, humor, and a healthy dash of mischief to everything she does.
Creative at her core, May finds peace and purpose through painting, woodworking, metalwork, and gaming. When she’s not working or crafting something new, she’s likely causing just the right amount of tomfoolery with her 3 cats as accomplices. Known for her quick wit and love of puns, May believes laughter is one of the best tools in recovery — after all, it’s truly pun-derful medicine.
My Why:
When I first came to Warrior’s Heart as a client in 2019, I was carrying the kind of pain that words couldn’t quite reach. As a Navy veteran with PTSD, survivor of a MST (military sexual trauma), multiple TBI’s, and in recovery, I felt unworthy of healing, angry, exhausted, lost, and searching for something real.
What I found here was more than treatment, it gave me a home when I needed it the most. Through honesty, accountability, and a community that truly understood, I learned what real recovery looks like.
Now, being part of the Client Relations team feels like coming full circle. I get to help others take the same brave first steps I once did — to remind them they’re not broken, just becoming. Every call, every conversation, is a chance to offer the same safety, laughter, and hope that helped me rebuild my life. That’s my why: to pay it forward because I’ve lived the difference Warrior’s Heart makes.
