Joe Ortega
Maintenance
Born in Kerrville, TX and raised in Bandera, TX. His dad was a fire fighter for the small town of Medina, TX and fire chief. Joe was raised in a fire truck for as far back as he can remember. Where his dad went, Joe was there by his side or in the seat of a fire truck watching what was going on. That is where Joe’s love for fire fighting began. Today Joe volunteers at Bandera Fire & Rescue, and Pipe Creek Fire Department. Joe is the current Assistant Fire Chief for Bandera Fire & Rescue. Joe spent many years in the Oil Field learning as much as he could and a lot of sleepless nights. Towards the end of Joe’s Oil Field life, he was a lead technician and designer for a new automated fuel system. From drilling to fracking to the pipeline it lives inside him. Thankful for the traveling he did, he was lucky to have visited all 48 mainland states. 2019 Joe welcomed his handsome son James Anthony with his beautiful wife Ashley. Though a small family, they are filled with laughs and love. In Joe’s spare time he operates a tow truck, works on his grandpas 1964 Chevrolet C 10 & his dad’s 1974 Chevrolet Nova, but calls it his. Joe loves his family time with Ashley, James, and his dad. Joe is a big goofball and loves to talk and make people smile. Eager to learn and take on any task, Joe will find a way. Let’s not forget how much he loves his Texas Aggies GIG ‘EM!!!
My Why:
Getting the opportunity to work at Warriors Heart is a blessing. Witnessing friends who have served, currently serve & First Responders suffer and think they have no purpose in life, I was there for them as a friend and brother so they weren’t alone and could help. I’ve lost some close ones and to this day, I wish to help in any way possible with open arms and all ears so no battles alone and can be lifted.
