My Why:
My why is the same as if I was on the battlefield I will never leave a fallen comrade. I see that there is a need for my help and support here at Warriors heart. I can relate to them in and out of uniform. I feel so much peace the moment I drive onto warriors’ heart compound; and when I’m here my focus is on the warriors in need. I struggle daily with PTSD and Sexual Trauma, but with the help of medication and counseling I’m still able to live a fulfilled life. To keep myself physically and mentally fit I take long walks outside while listening to the sounds of the ocean, birds, etc. I take my mental health very seriously, because I refuse to become a statistic of the 22 suicides a day. I may die with PTSD, but I will not die from PTSD.
